Meet the Artist!
Tamara J West
When my web designer asked for a bio I was completely stumped. What could be said?
A love for artistic endeavors started when my Grandma West handed me my first set of crayons. My first art show was in 5th grade when my abstract chalk design was selected for display during conferences. Middle and High School art classes were successful and I began as an Art Major at UofM Flint with a two-dimensional art piece selected for display at Kresge Art Museum. After college I had several juried art shows and brought home a few awards. However, parenthood held me in its abyss followed by a “career” that took me totally away from my art. A few years ago, my first born reminded me that they loved my watercolors as a child and encouraged me to go find my paint brushes and get back to it. Now, with a dozen art shows behind me, people are asking why aren’t you in stores? So, here we are, setting up shop! My retirement goal was to have a quaint home out of the city, surrounded by gardens, chickens and honeybees. I made it! My new goal is to share the peacefulness of life and nature in my artwork. I hope you enjoy. Blessings.
